This past week we have had family visiting us her in Mallorca. It is always fun getting to break out the typical routine and play tourist. We did a number of things, but the one that was the best for photos was a trip into Palma to visit the Es Baluard Contemporary and Modern Art Museum.
I made my way solo to the museum and found plenty of scenes and details too look at along the way. Lately I have been most interested in getting a wide view of most scenes, so it was interesting to be inspired to move in a little closer.

There are so many interesting doorways and storefronts in the world. And I do love the Spanish variety. On this walk, I was drawn to old signage, interesting typography, and peculiar liminal spaces.

The museum was really fun. A smooth concrete and glass building built into the old stone walls of the old city of Palma. The building is gorgeous and worth seeing, and the art was great as well. Entrance was 8 Euros. I think I’ll have to go back another time on my own to really dig into what is on offer. Some of art that I did see eluded to the Maritime history of the city, and other pieces were wall-scale bold colorful pieces.

I love the narrow streets of the old town that open up to little squares. Some had public art or murals. Others a bench. Most had some shade trees that helped make the spaces a little more livable in the heat of the summer.

Wandering any city is fun. Palma is now the main big city on my door step, and it keeps being interesting to look at and explore.
