It’s the details. Most sidewalks that I grew up with were a very specific type in the United States, the Works Progress Administration (WPA) late ’30’s poured concrete type that were ubiquitous in my hometown. These days sidewalks, and walkways in general, are likely to be of some sort of pattern of large concrete tiles. So I look down a lot. Not just on sidewalks, but stairs, playgrounds and everywhere.
